Perinatal Mental Health Week is a time to pause, reflect and open up conversations that matter. Conversations about the emotional wellbeing of women and families during pregnancy, birth and the early months of parenthood.

For me, this week is deeply personal. It is one of the reasons HuddoCo exists.

When I became a mum, I felt a mix of love, fear, overwhelm and so many emotions that I didn’t have the words for at the time. Even with support around me, parts of the journey felt isolating. I remember wishing someone had said, ā€œIt’s ok to feel this way. You’re not alone.ā€

HuddoCo was born from that space. A desire to support mothers in more ways than one. To create practical products that make everyday life easier, and to build a community that feels safe, honest and understanding.

Why Perinatal Mental Health Matters

The perinatal period is beautiful, but it can also bring challenges that are often invisible from the outside. Many mums experience:

  • Anxiety or constant worry
  • Mood changes or feeling flat
  • Intrusive thoughts or persistent fears
  • Overwhelm or mental load exhaustion
  • Feeling disconnected from themselves or others
  • Struggling with sleep, rest or recovery

These experiences are common and treatable, yet many women carry them quietly, believing they need to push through. You don’t. There is strength in reaching out and talking about what you’re feeling.

You Are Never Alone

If you’re finding things heavy right now, I want you to know this: nothing is wrong with you. You are not failing. Your feelings are valid and support is always available.

Here are some helpful services if you or someone you love needs support:

Sometimes the first step is simply telling someone, ā€œI’m not ok.ā€ That moment can change everything.

At HuddoCo, our mission goes far beyond baby bags. We want every mum to feel supported, prepared and less alone. Whether it’s through our products, our community or conversations like this one, please know you are seen, valued and cared for.

To every mum, soon-to-be mum and anyone walking the perinatal journey, I’m sending love and strength your way. You deserve to feel supported every step of the way. šŸ’›
