Care Guide
Your HuddoCo bags are made to move with you through every season of parenthood and beyond. With the right care, they’ll stay looking beautiful and performing at their best for years to come. Here’s how to look after each material so your pieces age gracefully.
Storage
Just like us, your HuddoCo bag won’t age well if stored in direct sunlight or in damp conditions. 😅 If you ever find yourself not using your bag, store it in the dust bag provided, in a cool, dry location. If you’re storing a bigger bag, like our Anywhere Backpack, filling the main compartment with a towel will help it keep its shape while not in use.
Bio-based Leather
Our premium bio-based leather finishes are designed to be both durable and refined. With proper care, they soften over time and develop a lovely lived-in character. Care for your bio-based leather pieces much like traditional leather.
The exterior has been lightly treated, so day-to-day marks can usually be wiped away with a soft damp cloth. Interiors can be spot-cleaned using a damp cloth or gentle baby wipe.
For long-term protection, use leather-specific care products only. A light spray with a leather protector or waterproofer at the start of each season helps keep the material in top condition.
If your bag gets wet, gently blot excess moisture and let it air dry naturally. Avoid using heat - it can distort or dry out the fabric.
Recycled Nylon
Our recycled nylon is water-resistant treated, so it's strong and designed for real-life mess, but it still benefits from occasional care.
If you experience a spill, start by blotting the area with a clean, dry cloth. Mix warm water with a small drop of dish soap (not laundry detergent) and a teaspoon of white vinegar. Dab the area with the solution for around 15 minutes, then rinse lightly with a warm wet cloth. Allow the fabric to air dry fully before using.
Mesh (Internal Pockets & Compartments)
Mesh is lightweight and breathable, but it’s also delicate. To clean, gently wipe with a damp cloth. Keep mesh away from sharp objects or rough surfaces to prevent snagging.
Zippers
Always zip and unzip when the zipper track is straight. Forcing a curved or overfilled zipper can cause the head to bend or teeth to misalign.
Scratches & Natural Markings
Leather is a natural material, so small marks, creases or scratches may appear over time - they’re part of the material’s unique character.
Fine scratches can often be softened with a colour-matched leather polish, wax, or a nourishing leather conditioner (always test in a discreet area first).
Every piece of bio-based leather has its own personality - minor variations, natural wrinkles and texture shifts are completely normal and will soften and evolve with regular use.
