We're going to be honest with you. Olive wasn't our idea.
It was yours 🫒
It started in the comments 💬
Every time we posted a bag, the same thing happened. Someone would tag a friend, someone would ask about the wipes dispenser, and then, without fail, someone would ask about colour.
Not just any colour. This one kept coming up by name.
"Would you ever do olive?" 🙋 "Please tell me a green one is coming." 🙏 "I've been holding off buying until you do a colour that isn't black."
At first we thought it was a one-off. Then it happened again. And again. It moved into our DMs, our review responses, our emails, and more than one very persuasive comment thread.
Eventually we stopped calling it a coincidence and started calling it a shortlist 📝
Why olive, specifically 🌿
Here's what we think was going on.
Olive sits in that rare spot where it feels like a considered choice, but it still goes with everything you already own. It's warm without being loud. It works with denim, with black, with tan, with the beige activewear situation that most of us are living in on a school run.
It also doesn't read as a baby bag, which is exactly what so many of you told us you wanted. You wanted a bag that carries nappies and wipes and three snack options, and still looks like a bag you'd choose if you didn't have kids.
Olive does that. She's soft enough for everyday and sharp enough for the days you want to feel like yourself.
Why it took us a bit ⏳
We're a small team, and we're fussy.
Getting a colourway right isn't just picking a swatch. The nylon has to hold the tone properly, the apple skin leather trim has to sit with it rather than fight it, the zips and hardware have to feel intentional, and the whole thing needs to look as good in real light as it does in a studio.
We went through more samples than we'd like to admit. A few were too grey. A couple went too far towards khaki and started feeling a bit army surplus. One was genuinely lovely and still wasn't quite it.
The one we landed on is the one that made us all go quiet for a second when it came out of the box. That's usually how you know ✨
Everything you already love, in a new tone 🎒
Nothing about the design has changed, which was the whole point. Olive is the same bag you've been reading reviews about, just in a colour you've been asking for.
That means you still get:
- 🧩 Side access with customisable shelving, so you're not unpacking the entire bag on a change table
- 🤲 The one-handed wipes dispenser, including a refillable wipes case
- 🧊 A built-in insulated pocket for milk, yoghurt and anything that needs to stay cool
- 💦 The water and odour proof compartment for the inevitable
- ♻️ Premium recycled materials, water-resistant nylon and apple skin leather accents
Same function. New feeling.
Thank you, genuinely 🤍
We know it's easy for a brand to say it listens. It's a nice line to put in a caption.
But Olive exists because a lot of you took the time to tell us what you actually wanted, over and over, in the comments and the DMs and the reviews. That's not marketing. That's a community telling a small Australian business what to make next, and the business being sensible enough to listen.
So thank you. Truly. 🫶
Shop Olive here. And if there's another colour living rent free in your head, you know where to find us. 👀
